Effective Saturday, June 12, COVID restrictions from Manitoba Health have been lifted to allow:
- Maximum 5 people per court
- Doubles play
- Lessons with up to 4 participants and 1 instructor per court
- Players from the different households playing together / sharing the same court
However, no organized leagues or tournaments are allowed. Please read the following as to how this affects Tuxedo Tennis Club operations until June 26.
RESUMPTION OF TTC PROGRAMS
- Drop in mixed doubles
- FAST (Fun Adult Starter Tennis) – NOTE participants: Nelly will be in touch with you about scheduling
- Ladder play (registered participants will be contacted)
- NOTE: there will be no free clinics for members with Nelly for the month of June
- No guests permitted at this time.
PRIME TIME BOOKING LIMITATIONS
- Restrictions on prime time court bookings still apply (4:30-9:00 pm Monday to Friday 1 1/2 hours for doubles and 1 hour for singles; booking permitted every other day).
- Should there be court time available on the current day, you can call the clubhouse and ask staff to book you so that there will be no penalty.
DOUBLES DROP-IN PROGRAMS
- all drop-in programs are sign-up only via our Hold My Court Booking system. All of the drop-in times have been colour coded with men’s doubles drop-in being green, mixed doubles drop-in being orange and women’s doubles drop-in being pink.
- Drop-in bookings can be made for 90 minutes or two hours. Please only book for two hours if you can commit to play for that duration of time and try to sign up with those who are signed up for the same length of time. There will be no rotating during the drop-in programs and members will play with the same cohort.
- Please also remember that if you aren’t intending to participate in the drop-in program, do not book in colour coded time slots. If this occurs, club staff will remove the booking and contact you.
- Please be considerate of the fact that many members only play during the drop-in times as they don’t have anyone else to play with.
- A fifth person is allowed to join each court during a drop-in program and members must accommodate them. Unfortunately, we were unable to add this to the booking system, but if you are wanting to come to the club for a drop-in program and a court appears to be full, please call (204-837-3766). The staff have started a system to manually keep track of spares on each court. If you’re hoping to come and play, call us ahead of time so we can let you know if the spare spot is open.
BALL MACHINE
- The rental fee of $10 cash / $12 debit per hour has been reinstituted.
- To book the ball machine on Hold My Court you will have to book the ball machine and either court 1 or court 2. The weekly booking limit has been removed.
- Maximum Ball Machine booking time is 1 hour.
- If staff are on the court with you to give instructions on how to use the ball machine, they will be wearing a face mask and we ask that you do the same.
- Only use the baskets or tubes to pick up balls.
- New, specialized balls are now in use.
COURTS 3- 6 RESURFACING STARTS JUNE 21
- Watch for updates next week as to curtailed court access during this time.
- There will be no ball machine use while we have limited courts available
DEBIT MACHINE CHARGES
- All debit machine purchases will have a $2.00 additional fee to cover bank charges.
BEVERAGES NOW AVAILABLE FOR SALE
- Bottled water is available for purchase @$1.00 cash.
- Gatorade is for sale @$3.00 cash
- $2.00 additional fees applicable if purchased by debit
